Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 Agni Pariksha Movie Review
critic rating: 2.5/5
Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha is a revenge fantasy on steroids. Director Faruk Kabir seems to have been inspired by movies like Taken and Nobody,
where seemingly ordinary men encounter extraordinary situations, miraculously rise above them and transform from underdogs to alphas in the blink of an eye.
The difference between those Hollywood movies and the current one is coherence. As exaggerated as they are, they’re all about a coherent plot and building tension.
Khuda Haafiz doesn’t do any of these and thus comes across as boring fare. It’s also pretty slow for an action movie.
The film is a direct sequel to Khuda Haafiz (2020), which was also directed by Faruk Kabir. The original was much more engaging than the sequel as Vidyut Jammwal showcased his martial arts.
skills quite early and was full of fun characters like Annu Kapoor’s Usman Hamid Ali Murad, the friendly taxi driver, Shiva Pandit’s Faiz Abu Malik, the rogue cop. ,
and Aahana Kumra’s Tamena Hamid, a plucky policewoman who experiences a killer blow in the film.
Nothing much happens in the first half, which is devoted to giving the characters some sort of back story.

Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 Agni Pariksha Movie Review
We see the marriage of Sameer (Vidyut Jammwal) and Nargis (Shivaleeka Oberoi) in tatters as she suffers the effects of being the victim of multiple rapes while being kidnapped in the Middle East. To distract herself from her suffering,
Sameer brings Nandini (Riddhi Sharma), the orphaned daughter of his friend, home. Nargis soon hooks up with Nandini and things go smoothly for a while. However,
Nandini and an older girl are kidnapped at gunpoint by some older students of their school. Both are gangraped and Nandini loses her life due to the trauma. Enraged,
Samir severely beats up the policeman investigating the case and soon finds himself in jail. The rest of the film is devoted to how he becomes a killing machine in prison and gets revenge on those who wronged him. In the end,
it turns out that he has become a bahubali of sorts – someone who runs a parallel government. Get ready for another sequel to arrive.
Is Khuda Hafiz 2 a good movie?
We know that Sameer had the ability to become a one man army. That was shown enough in the movie. Our problem is that his eruption comes quite late.
Perhaps a non-linear cut could have served the film better. There is also no news in the fights. In comparison,
fight choreography in the first film was much better. It was more visceral and raw. Vidyut Jammwal is one of our best martial artists and has amazed us with his stunts in the past.
Here, he was forced to do an 80s-style action, which makes us feel like he was underutilized. His sincerity cannot be denied, but the lack of good writing frustrates his efforts.
Shivaleeka Oberoi has to look like a martyr all the time and manages to look convincing while doing so. She should invest in more rounded characters in the future.
Who is Khuda Hafiz 2 based on?
The most interesting character of the film is Sheela Thakur played by Sheeba Chaddha. She plays a classic villain with a nuanced portrayal, but even her performance isn’t enough to elevate the film as it falls victim to the amount of clichés it espouses.
Vidyut Jammwal doesn’t need to prove his credentials as an action star. It needs better scripts and direction. He should say Khuda hafiz to such half-baked products and move on….

Story: Back in Lucknow from Noman, where she was kidnapped and gangraped, Nargis and her husband Sameer try unsuccessfully to pick up the pieces.
They find momentary happiness when they adopt Nandini, an orphaned child. When Nandini falls victim to a heinous crime, Sameer seeks revenge and hunts down the culprits.
Review: The sequel to the 2020 action thriller Khuda Haafiz opens with Sameer (Vidyut Jammwal) and Nargis (Shivaleeka Oberoi) trying to heal from the trauma of being kidnapped and gangraped in a fictional country called Noman.
Nargis is still emotionally scarred and bitter, but after a therapy session, she agrees to adopt Sameer’s boyfriend’s five-year-old orphaned niece,
Nandini. However, their happiness does not last long as Nandini is captured and becomes the victim of a heinous crime.
Is movie Khuda Hafiz 2 a real story?
It follows the standard trope of a Bollywood revenge drama — a power play by the grandmother of a rich spoiled brat (the ever-present evil Thakur played by Sheeb Chaddha ), getting rid of a key witness, a corrupt cop and a bloodthirsty hero going after the perpetrators, vigilante style.
Even if the premise is anything but novel and the processing in many cases suffers from sensationalism, the film is at a top level in terms of filmmaking.
Faruk Kabir as the director handles the reins of the film well as Jitan Harmeet Singh gives him able support as the cinematographer. Unsurprisingly though,
the action is excellent – especially when Sameer takes on the prison bully Jaiswal, who has been contracted to kill him. It is easily one of the most memorable scenes. The climactic chase is just as thrilling.
Vidyut gives a great performance as the hero, showing raw action skills with lots of hand-to-hand combat. Shivaleeka’s Nargis is convincing as she bitterly excuses her husband,
tells the therapist (Rukhsar) that everything is fine, or admits that she is not ready for the responsibility of taking care of a child. However,
Will there be Khuda Hafiz 2?
one cannot digest how quickly it comes and things return to normal. The subplot of Thakurji’s exploitation of her daughter-in-law also seems a bit of a stretch.
Those who can’t stomach too much blood and gore may find some scenes graphic and disturbing.
Overall, Khuda Haafiz 2 is worth a watch for the challenging action and the story that is full of emotions. The plot remains standard, but the drama will keep you engaged.

Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II is oblivious to its own mediocrity
Director: Faruk Kabir Screenplay: Faruk Kabir Cast: Vidyut Jamawal, Sheevalika Oberoi, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Dibyendu Bhattacharya
It’s too lazy to crack the test pun for a movie with ‘agni pariksha’ in the title. I won’t do it. It’s still no lazier than making another Hindi film that sells the brutality of rape and violence in the currency of alpha-male heroism.
They tell us that the system is too corrupt to deserve justice for survivors and victims. They tell us that sexual assault is the norm in states like Uttar Pradesh. Both can be true.
But it is the intention that reveals the gaze. It’s important to remember that films like Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha only tell us these things –
and then show us these things in gross, unsavory detail – to celebrate the sublime alertness of the common (muscle) man.
Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 Agni Pariksha Movie Review
Women’s suffering exists only as a trigger for righteous male anger. It’s absurd that I have to explain this in 2022. But with each passing decade, the Bollywood template of rape and revenge
